Bloodflowers by W.D. Valgardson is an extraordinary story about a rum gentleman named Denny. He arrives in Black Island as a teacher for the grade school. However, upon his arrival strange incidents begin to do in this small ancient island. Dennys first lawful character shows when he curiously picks up a personal line of creditflower from a tiny crack within a rock. However, when Mrs. Poorwilly suggests him to draw blood from his finger or dreadful things might occur; Denny laughs at this bizarre superstition, and refuses to do so. Furthermore, the villagers are true believers of superstition. This offensive expression from the new arriver leads the villagers to think Denny is a bad omen to the island. They come to a conclusion that Denny is self-centered man, and does not think doubly before he expresses his thoughts and actions. Unexpected to Denny, the villagers create a harmful plot to get rid of him in just a year. Throughout the story, Denny takes quite an interest to a glorious young lady name Adel, the daughter of Sick Jack. And after the tragic deprivation of Sick Jack, the Poorwilly couple suggests Denny to take shelter at Adels home instead. Thats when terrible thing begins to happen in the island. Soon, Denny witnesses the 3rd death of the island.



When the news spreads out about Denny and Adel sleeping in the same bedroom, unexpected neighbors shows up in their doorstopper with wrapped up gifts and food. At this unusual behavior of the villagers, Denny grows risible and sets of to find news about his next flight. However, after world turned down by the radio signal for the third time because it doesnt seem to work, Denny becomes extremely intent and leaves his dorm. And when he once again picks up the beautiful bloodflower on an early morning of April the 1st, everything comes crashing down to Denny from the beginning.
