Earlier I today I was speaking with a colleague who was upset about a remonstrateary an RS
instructor had made in class and asked my opinion. The comment was to the effect that the world
should be thankful for religion, because without it, human civilisation would have already killed
itself off. My friend is an agnostic and felt that this comment proposed that he was defective due
to his agnostic beliefs. I reflected to him ult and present atrocities which have been carried out
in the name of God and the fact that greed and righteous indignation are an meddling nature of
the human condition found in two religious and secular life. As an example of this, I exit
