The Greeks liked to guide the gods before they did anything to see if they approved or not, and they would usually do this by using oracles, which were shrines that were sacred to certain gods, to communicate with the gods (Mills 42-59) The main gods/goddesses of ancient Greece were Zeus, Hera, Poseidon, and Hades.
