I wish to start this frustrate by acknowledging the god of eternal wisdom with a word of prayer. INTRODUCTION
It is my great delight and privilege to present this day, 19th March 2002 the 30th Inaugural take to task of the Federal University of Technology, Akure, and 30 years after obtaining my first degree, in 1972. It is the 13th inaugural lecture from the School of Agricultural Technology of this University and the 4th from the Department of tool Production and Health, following Professor A.A. Ilemobade J.P., a renown vet surgeon and No. 2 Vice-Chancellor in FUTA, Prof. R.A.
Ogunsusi, another idealistic Veterinary surgeon and the current Deputy ViceChancellor, and Prof. V.A. Aletor, an articulate nutritional Biochemist and the first staff to be 1
promoted to the rank of Professor in the Department. The earlier two were appointed as Professors.
The title of my lecture as advertised is POULTRY: GODS GOLD-MINE IN THE LIVESTOCK INDUSTRY. The choice of this title has arisen from the debate on currency spinning potential or otherwise of the poultry personal line of credit within the livestock industry.
