The Constitution of the United States of the States is the supreme law of the land. (Cheeseman, 2007, p. 9). The U.S. Constitution serves two major functions:
1. It creates the three branches of the federal giving medication (i.e., the executive, legislative, and discriminatory branches) and allocates powers to these branches.
2. It protects person rights by limiting the governments capacity to restrict those rights. (p. 49)
